The weekend of Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th June 2016 around twenty of the lovely private gardens in Usk are open to visitors 10am-5pm, to raise money for local charities.
The gardens range from small cottage gardens to the grand sweep of medieval Usk Castle. All are in walking distance of the free car parks and there is a regular mini-bus service around the town (10am - 4.45pm).
Usk is an historic town on the banks of the river Usk just 20 minutes drive from the Severn bridge. As well as the gardens and the Town of Flowers displays, there are talks and opportunities to meet RHS Chelsea Gold-Medal winning garden designers, and an Art and Tapestry exhibition at the Castle Barn,
Have a picnic on the banks of the river, or there are great places to eat and drink. Visitors can browse in a number of antique and craft outlets and independent shops. The Victorian Courthouse and Rural Life Museum throw their doors open to the public and there is a Gardener's Market, with lots of plants at very reasonable prices.
There is ample free parking in two main car parks plus a coach park. All are well signposted.There is also free blue-badge parking at Usk Castle car park.
You can buy your Garden Passport from one of the stalls in the Maryport St free car parks, or in Twyn Square. The gardens are open 10am - 5pm on both Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th June 2016: admission is £7.50 for one day or £10.00 for the whole weekend. Children aged 14 and under are admitted free.

Associated Events 2016:
An illustrated garden talk by celebrated garden designer Sarah Price (Chelsea gold medal winner, and co-designer of the Olympic Park in 2012). Sarah will share her inspiring ideas and expertise at the Three Salmons Hotel on the Saturday, June 25th, from 12 noon to 1pm. Tickets for the talk are £4 in advance from the Green Flute Cafe at Usk Museum, also from Open Gardens ticket stalls on the day (Twyn Square and Maryport St car parks), or at the door if available.
Chelsea gold-medal winning garden designer Arne Maynard will be at Usk Castle Barn on Saturday June 25th 2016 2-3pm discussing his latest book and inspirations in garden design. Entry FREE to Usk Open Gardens Passport holders.
Jazz in the garden
The Open Gardens weekend will finish with "Plas Jazz" evening in the beautiful garden of Plas Newydd, Porthycarne St. Bring your own picnic, plus rug or folding chairs, and enjoy the music of jazz singer Debs Hancock and her musicians the Jazz Dragons. Sunday June 26th from 6pm, concert starts at 6.30 with a picnic interval.
